World Environmental Day Commemorate

The United Nations in Ethiopia commemorated World Environmental Day in the UNECA compound under the 2018 theme, “Beat Plastic Pollution".

The theme, “Beat Plastic Pollution”, urges governments, industry, communities, and individuals to come together and explore sustainable alternatives and urgently reduce the production and excessive use of single-use plastics that are polluting our oceans, damaging lives, including marine life and threatening human health.

 

National Dialogue on Unity and Diversity

Stakeholders from across the country participated in a national consultative forum on diversity and national unity within Ethiopia’s federal system.

The one-day consultation was organized by the Prime Minister’s Office Democratic System Building Center (PMO-DC) and UNDP Ethiopia, who are partnering to identify key areas of interventions to address the root causes of public discontent and to build understanding and consensus among major stakeholders as well as the wider public.
